During the Super Bowl XL broadcast, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the movie that follows the events of Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood. The video promised to deliver a story told through the unpredictable tone of the Quentin Tarantino original.
Cliff Booth, the beloved Hollywood actor, can be seen stuck in yet another narrative larger than anything he could imagine. The trailer depicted Brad’s protagonist fighting against other people, while also having a good time with mysterious acquaintances. Just like Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood established, nothing is what it seems in the heart of the entertainment industry.
David Fincher will be in charge of the directorial duties when it comes to The Adventures of Cliff Booth. While Quentin Tarantino didn’t sit in the director’s chair for this production, the filmmaker was heavily involved with the production of the story that will arrive around seven years after the release of his latest film.
Tarantino wrote the screenplay for the movie. The Adventures of Cliff Booth was originally envisioned to include Leonardo DiCaprio reprising his role as Rick Dalton, before the actor decided to pass on the project (via Deadline). Fincher is making his way to the world of Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood after years of not releasing a movie. Netflix and the director collaborated on his last project, an action story titled The Killer. Michael Fassbender stepped into the role of the titular character, who was depicted as a professional assassin. Fincher remains comfortable in the working relationship he holds with the streaming giant, with both parties looking to turn The Adventures of Cliff Booth into a massive hit.
