EXCLUSIVE: Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley in Talks to Star in Paramount’s ‘Possession’ Remake

Sources tell Nexus Point News that Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley are in talks to star in the upcoming remake of Possession.

As announced in 2024 by The Hollywood Reporter, a Possession remake was in development at Paramount. Smile filmmaker, Parker Finn, has penned the script and will direct. Finn is also producing the project with Robert Pattinson. Although Pattinson was never officially attached to star, there were some early conversations around him starring as well but this seemingly never aligned with his packed schedule. Nexus Point News reached out to Paramount for comment.

Possession was a 1981 psychological horror film directed by Andzrej Żuławski and written by Żuławski and Frederic Tuten. The film starred Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill. Possession follows Mark (Neill), a spy who has returned home to West Berlin to find his wife Anna (Adjani) exhibiting disturbing behavior and asking for a divorce. The film premiered at the 34th Cannes Film Festival where Adjani won the award for Best Actress.

Callum Turner most recently starred in Eternity with Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen. He’s best known for his roles in The Fantastic Beasts franchise, Green Room, and Queen and Country. Turner’s upcoming projects include the upcoming Apple TV adaptation of Neuromancer and One Night Only.

Margaret Qualley is best known for her roles in The Leftovers, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Poor Things, and the critically acclaimed, The Substance. She recently starred in Drive Away Dolls and Honey Don’t! for Ethan Coen and Blue Moon for Richard Linklater. Qualley’s upcoming projects include How to Make a Killing with Glen Powell and The Dog Stars with Jacob Elordi.

Possession is set to begin production this Summer for Paramount Pictures.
