  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Man Of Tomorrow’ Eyeing To Begin Production Next Summer

As announced today by DC Studios co-CEO and chairman, James Gunn, his next project for the DC Universe will be titled Man of Tomorrow. The film will serve as a direct follow up, but not a sequel, to Superman .  Sources tell Nexus Point News that production is aiming to begin in the summer of 2026, specifically in June. Gunn will write, direct, and produce the film. DC Studios’ co-CEO and chairman, Peter Safran will produce along with Gunn. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult are set to reprise their roles as Clark Kent/Superman and Lex Luthor, respectively and will serve as co-leads of the film. Although the film will continue their rivalry and feature Lex as an antagonist, rumors suggest they will also join forces as well. Although unverified, sources also tell NPN, that Supergirl (Milly Alcock), Lobo (Jason Momoa), and Peacemaker (John Cena) will have roles in the film as well. On Instagram, Isabela Merced hinted at her return as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl saying “See you soon.” Superman released on July 11, 2025 as the first feature film from DC Studios and the first film of the newly launched DCU. In addition to Superman and Luthor, the film introduced fans to the DCU’s Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Guy Gardner/Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl, Supergirl, Perry White (Wendell Pierce), and more. The film had a $225 million budget and has earned $612 million so far in its global theatrical run. Threads of the storyline introduced in Superman  will be explored in season 2 of Peacemaker , which is currently airing on HBO Max. Future DCU projects include HBO’s Lanterns and Supergirl  which are currently in post-production and Clayface  which is currently shooting in Liverpool. Man of Tomorrow  will feature both Superman and Lex as leads and rumors point to the characters teaming up to face a shared threat. Some ideas could be characters like Brainiac or the Authority. We can potentially see them recruiting a team as well and that’s where Supergirl, Lobo, and Peacemaker could fit in. The need for a team to protect the world from threats could potentially also plant the seeds for the formation of the Justice League in a future project. DC Studios’ Man of Tomorrow is set to be released by Warner Bros. Discovery on July 9, 2027.

  • EXCLUSIVE: DC’s ‘Paradise Lost’ Circling in on Writers

Paradise Lost was one of the more interesting projects announced for the DCU by James Gunn during his initial DC Studios’ presentation back in January of 2023. It serves as a prequel to the DCU’s Wonder Woman, which raised many questions like whether Gal Gadot would reprise her role or when we’ll actually see Wonder Woman in the DCU. Since its announcement, there have been no updates on the series. We’ve learned from our source that Kira Snyder and Janet Lin are in talks to join the project. Snyder is best known for being a writer and producer on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and the CW’s The 100. Lin’s writing credits include Netflix’s Bridgerton and Cursed and Fox’s Bones. Much is being kept under wraps regarding the series. During the project’s announcement, Gunn described the project as being similar to Game of Thrones and compared Themyscira to Westeros. In addition, the series is set to focus on the inhabitants of the island prior to the birth of Wonder Woman. The title of the series shares similarities to Phil Jimenez and George Perez’s story arc on Wonder Woman, “Paradise Island Lost” which could point to some inspiration for the plot of the series. The story focused on a civil war on Themyscira between the Themysciran Amazons and the Bana-Mighdall Amazons. The setting of the series is similar to Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons, a series that Gunn praised on X in August of 2023. Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons tells the origin of the Amazons and features Wonder Woman’s mother, Hppolyta as a protagonist which could hint at her being a prominent character in Paradise Lost. Paradise Lost is currently being developed by DC Studios for Max as part of "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" of the DC Universe. This story is developing.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Avengers 5’ Production Schedule Revealed

Avengers 5 has been through it all. The project has lost a director, lost a writer, and lost its original title before production has even begun. Things are beginning to align, as we have heard that the project is finally aiming to shoot soon. Several months ago, it was previously reported that project was aiming to shoot around January 2025, but as production approaches, dates have become more clear. Marvel star, Benedict Cumberbatch has also confirmed that filming is set to commence next year. The highly anticipated follow up to Avengers: Endgame, is looking to begin production in late-March 2025, which will run through the end of Summer 2025. Assuming production runs smoothly, the film could keep its current release date of May 1, 2026. It is currently unknown if its planned sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars will shoot concurrently with Avengers 5. In addition, we have also learned that due to the size of the cast and the film itself , several actors will be filming their scenes in chunks. Actors may have to film all their scenes at once in the span of weeks without the whole cast or even everyone in the scene being present during the shoot. The project, originally known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, was set to feature its namesake, Kang the Conqueror as its primary antagonist. Kang and his variants have been recurring characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, being featured in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and both seasons of Loki. Following an arrest and later two misdemeanors, the sole performer behind Kang and his variants, Jonathan Majors was dropped from the project and the role. This led to the project being referred to as Avengers 5 from that point on. At the moment, it's currently unknown whether or not Kang will remain as the film’s antagonist with a different actor or be replaced with a different antagonist. Regardless, the change in the film’s title hints at a reduced role for the character in both the film and the MCU. In addition to the title change and troubles with talent, the film has lost its director and writer. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ director, Destin Daniel Cretton was originally set to direct the film after it was announced shortly after San Diego Comic Con 2022. Cretton exited the project in November of 2023. A few months after Comic Con, Jeff Loveness was announced to be writing the film, but was replaced by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Michael Waldron in November 2023, as well. In December 2023, @rDCUleaks on X, reported that between Loveness leaving the project and Waldron’s hiring, Andrew Lanham was set to write the film. Waldron is currently set to write both Avengers 5 and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars which will be released May 1, 2026 and May 7, 2027, respectively.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Kane Chronicles’ Series Is In Development At Disney+

A series adaptation of Rick Riordan’s The Kane Chronicles trilogy is in development at Disney+, which is home to its sister series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The series is being described as being set in the world of Percy Jackson. Similar to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Riordan will come onboard as a writer and executive producer for the series. In 2020, Riordan had announced that Netflix was developing a trilogy of films adapting The Kane Chronicles. Since its announcement, no updates were made until February of this year when Riordan announced the films would not move forward after four years of development hell. In May, during his spring update, he mentioned exploring other options for the franchise but had nothing to announce at the time. Following the success of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it does not come as a surprise that Disney would want to expand the universe in a similar format. The Kane Chronicles focuses on two siblings, Carter and Sadie Kane, who are teenage magicians, and descendants of the pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Although it focuses on a different set of mythology, there have been subtle hints and crossovers in the respective book franchises that suggest these mythological worlds coexist. Riordan has written crossover stories where characters from Percy Jackson encounter characters from The Kane Chronicles: "The Son of Sobek,” "The Staff of Serapis," and "The Crown of Ptolemy.” These crossovers demonstrate that the characters and mythologies from both series can interact, which opens the way for more possibilities for future interactions in the live-action shared universe on Disney+. This story is still developing.

  • EXCLUSIVE: What We Know About DC Studios’ ‘Clayface’

DC Studios’ Clayface  is set to be the third feature film as part of the DC Universe. Described as an R-rated body horror, it’s set to explore the origins of the monstrous, shapeshifting Batman rogue. Clayface was originally conceived by Mike Flanagan ( The Haunting of Hill House , Doctor Sleep ) who first expressed interest in the character in 2021 and over the years had pitched the idea to DC Films and later DC Studios in 2023. Flanagan had begun to develop the film as part of the Batman Epic Crime Saga. In December 2024, DC Studios had greenlit Flanagan’s script as part of the DCU with Matt Reeves attached to still produce the film along with DC Studios. Flanagan was originally attached to direct the film as well but was unable to due to his upcoming Carrie  and The Exorcist projects. In February 2025, James Watkins ( Speak No Evil ) came on board to direct. Clayface  is currently set to begin production in early September and continue through October in the UK. Following a lengthy casting process, a short list of actors was assembled to screen test for the role of Matt Hagen. Tom Blyth, George Mackay, Jack O’Connell, Tom Rhys Harries, and Leo Woodall all tested for the role of Matt, with Rhys Harries winning the role. Rhys Harries ( White Lines , Suspicion ) was officially cast in June 2025. As announced by Flanagan, the script is inspired by the Batman: The Animated Series  two part episode, “Feat of Clay.” Similar to the episode, the character of Clayface in the film will be named Matt Hagen as amalgamation of Hagen with Basil Karlo’s backstory.  Sources tell Nexus Point News that Hagen is a handsome, up and coming actor who’s attacked and disfigured. Originally from Gotham, he moves to Hollywood to escape his troubled past and begin a career as an actor. With his disfigurement, his career and outlet as an actor is ruined and is eventually transformed into a shapeshifting monster. In the comics, Hagen debuted in Detective Comics  #298 in 1961 and was created by Bill Finger and Sheldon Moldoff. Hagen was originally a treasure hunter who transformed into Clayface after an encounter with protoplasm. Karlo debuted in Detective Comics #40 in 1940 and was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. In the Golden Age, Karlo was a disgraced actor who donned the costume of a character he portrayed known as Clayface and sought to murder the crew and cast of the remake of a film he once starred in. Hagen’s love interest and co-star in the film is scientist, Dr. Caitlin Bates, an original character created for the film. Bates is the CEO of a biotech startup seeking to create cutting edge medicine and medical technology. Bates sees Hagen as a way to grow her company and cure his condition. Throughout the process she falls in love with him while her fiance John grows suspicious of their relationship. John is a detective and committed to Caitlin and his job. The antagonist of the film is set to be a crime boss, who like Caitlin and John, is another original character. At the moment, the film is not set to feature any recognizable DC characters and will primarily consist of original characters in this character driven horror film.  Clayface is set to release on September 11, 2026 as part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters of the DCU.

  • EXCLUSIVE: A Deep Dive Into DC Studios’ International TV Projects

As announced by DC Studios Co-CEO and Co-Chairman, James Gunn, DC Studios is developing projects set in Korea, Japan, and Brazil in an interview with Hindustan Times. Sources tell Nexus Point News, that these projects have been in development since the DCU’s conception. As reported by DCULeaks in July 2023, a Huntress project was in development for the DCU. The project will mostly be in Korean and will feature Helena Bertinelli, depicted as half-Korean and half-Italian. It was later reported by DCULeaks that Jung Byung-gil ( Villainess ) was attached to write and direct the series.  © DC Comics The intention is for Pom Klementieff to portray the character within the DCU. This has never been formally confirmed due to no deal being set in place at the moment. It is currently unknown whether or not a deal has been made for Klementieff to officially portray Huntress, but if it were there is a possibility the character can appear in projects prior to Huntress . Since the project’s announcement, fans have heavily speculated that this would indeed be Klementieff’s role in the DCU and have begun to speculate whether or not she would debut in season 2 of Peacemaker due to her being present on set as part of a set visit with Gunn. Sources also tell NPN, the core elements that make up Huntress  will be present in the several other projects being developed as part of DC Studios’ international slate. These elements include, an international setting, the series being written and spoken in that country’s respective language, and a cast composed of actors from that respective country. The most important element of these projects will be developed by creatives from these respective countries with most of these projects already having creatives attached. Although characters will be speaking their native languages in these projects, they are still canon to the DCU and are expected to crossover in other projects that are spoken in English. Another thing to note is that these projects are only TV projects at the moment. Sources also tell NPN that some will be animated. Most projects will adapt characters whose origins already include them originating from their respective countries, but similar to Huntress, origins will be changed for certain characters to fit the narrative of the story. This story is still developing.
