Sources tell Nexus Point News that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp are set to reunite with filmmaker Robert Eggers on his next film, Werwulf . Werwulf  is described as a werewolf horror film set in 13th century England and is set to feature Old English dialogue. The film was first announced in January 2025, following the release of Eggers’ last film, Nosferatu . Eggers had co-written the film with frequent collaborator, Sjón ( The Northman ) and will be producing alongside Sjón. Focus Features is set to distribute the film. Sources tell Nexus Point News that Taylor-Johnson is set to play the titular werewolf, with Depp set to portray his wife. The script reportedly features elements of witchcraft and is described as one of Eggers’ goriest projects to date. Production is expected to begin this September. Eggers made his feature film debut with A24’s The Witch , starring Anya Taylor-Joy. He later went on to direct, write, and produce The Lighthouse  for A24 and  The Northman  and Nosferatu  for Focus Features. Eggers is currently developing a sequel to Labyrinth  with Sjón and an adaptation of A Christmas Carol  which is eyeing Willem Dafoe as Ebenezer Scrooge. Taylor-Johnson most recently starred in Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later  and prior to that in Eggers’ Nosferatu  as Friedrich Harding. Taylor-Johnson is best known for his roles in Kick-Ass , Avengers: The Age of Ultron , Bullet Train , Godzilla (2014), and Nocturnal Animals . Taylor-Johnson is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Sloane, Offer. Lily-Rose Depp most recently starred in Eggers’ Nosferatu as Ellen Hutter. She’s best known for her roles in The Idol , The King , and Voyagers . Depp is repped by CAA, Froggatt & Irwin, Markham, Agence Adequat, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols. Werwulf is set to be released by Focus Features on December 25, 2026.

As fans await the highly anticipated season 2 to the hit Disney+ series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians , more casting descriptions have surfaced. We have learned through our sources that the series has begun casting the Gray Sisters, alternatively known as the Graeae in Greek mythology. The characters will guest star in the series. The Gray Sisters are featured prominently in the second entry in the series of novels, Sea of Monsters, which  is what the second season will be adapting. We can also report that the series will be deviating from the source material and following a different interpretation of the characters. Rather than depicting them as elderly women, they will be inspired by the Triple Goddess: the maiden, the mother, and the crone.  Tempest will be the youngest sister. Actresses in their late teens and twenties of all ethnicities are being looked at for the role. She is known for being the most playful of the trio. Anger is the middle sister with actresses of all ethnicities in their thirties to fifties being looked at for the role. She is described as being the crankiest of the trio. Casting for the eldest sister, Wasp, is also open ethnicity with actresses in their sixties to seventies being considered for the role. She is the wisest and most experienced sister. In the source material, Sea of Monsters , The Gray Sisters make their debut when Annabeth Chase hails a taxi as she, Percy, and Tyson, escape the authorities. In the scene, Percy has been falsely accused of torching his school after a battle with the Laistrygonian Giants. The Sisters come into play as they are the ones driving the taxi, while sharing a single eye. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 enters production in August 2024 in Vancouver, potentially setting it up for a 2025 release.

© Hanna-Barbera Frank Welker, the legendary voice actor who has portrayed both Fred Jones and Scooby-Doo for more than five decades, has joined Netflix’s upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series, lending his voice once again to the titular Great Dane. Netflix first unveiled the project in March, confirming that Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are set to serve as showrunners on what’s being described as a “modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog.” The series logline teases a darker, heightened take on the beloved franchise: During their final summer at Camp Ruby-Spears, old friends Shaggy and Daphne become entangled in a haunting mystery involving a lonely Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Alongside pragmatic townie Velma and the enigmatic new kid Freddy, the group is pulled into a chilling investigation that threatens to unravel the secrets each of them is hiding. After months of silence, movement on the project has finally begun. Sources tell us the production is currently casting teen actors to play the high-school-aged leads, with the creative team seeking fresh faces for the ensemble. Screen tests are now underway. Filming is expected to begin in April 2026 in Atlanta. Based on the classic Hanna-Barbera characters, the live-action adaptation is produced by Appelbaum and Rosenberg along with their production company. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will executive produce via Berlanti Productions, with André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner on board through Midnight Radio. Warner Bros. Television and Netflix are co-producing. Welker, one of the most prolific voice actors in Hollywood, is widely recognized for his decades-long tenure as Fred and Scooby-Doo across animated series and films. His extensive credits also include iconic roles such as Megatron and Soundwave in the Transformers franchise, Abu and Rajah in Disney’s Aladdin , Nibbler in Futurama , and Garfield in Garfield Gets Real and Garfield's Fun Fest , among hundreds of others. He is repped by Tisherman Gilbert Motley Drozdoski Talent Agency (TGMD). Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the series.

The cast of the highly anticipated third entry in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune  saga continues to grow as the film has found its twins. Sources tell Nexus Point News that Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke are set to portray Leto II and Ghanima, respectively. Momoa and Brooke will portray the twin children of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya). As reported by NPN in April, the film was set to introduce the twins as teens in this film during a time jump. Details of this time jump are currently unknown but may hint at Villeneuve drastically changing the story to incorporate elements of the novel, Children of Dune . Momoa, the son of actor Jason Momoa, will be making his acting debut in Dune   3 , and will be acting opposite his father. Jason Momoa will be reprising his role as Duncan Idaho who returns as a ghola, created by Scytale (Robert Pattinson). Brooke is best known for her roles in Silo  and The Primrose Railway Children . The twins were first introduced in Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel, Dune Messiah at the very end of the novel as newborns. (Spoilers ahead!) The birth of the twins resulted in the death of Chani, an event foretold through Paul’s prescience. They return in the next installment in the series, Children of Dune , as 9 year olds and attempt to overthrow their corrupted aunt Alia and the Corrino uprising. Leto II is crowned as emperor and returns thousands of years later in God Emperor Dune , fully transformed into a sandworm-human hybrid. Dune 3  is slated to begin shooting next month, in July, and continue through the end of the year. Writer and director of the first two films, Denis Villeneuve, returns to write and direct the third installment of the series. Returning cast members include, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem, and Florence Pugh. Legendary’s Dune 3 is currently rumored to release on December 16, 2026.

Sources tell Nexus Point News that Ti West’s next project is set to be A Christmas Carol film for Paramount Pictures with Johnny Depp set to star as Ebenezer Scrooge. The project comes from a script written by Nathaniel Halpern, best known for his work on Legion  and creating and writing Tales from the Loop . West previously directed an episode of Tales from the Loop . The film has secretly been in development at Paramount for quite some time with casting for the rest of the cast already being underway. West is best known for writing and directing A24’s X  trilogy: X , Pearl , and MaXXXine , all starring Mia Goth. His other credits include The Roost , Trigger Man , The Innkeepers, The House of the Devil , and Valley of Violence . West is repped by CAA. For Johnny Depp, this will mark his first studio film in years. Depp is best known for his roles in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Edward Scissorhands , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Donnie Brasco , and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape . He made his acting debut in The Nightmare on Elm Street  in 1984. Depp is repped by Range Media Partners A Christmas Carol  was published in 1843 and written by Charles Dickens. The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by the ghost of his business partner and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come who deliver warnings and ultimately change him into a better person. The story has been adapted countless times into various forms of media with the first film adaptation being a British silent short film from 1901 titled Scrooge, or, Marley’s Ghost . The most recent film adaptation is 2022’s Spirited  starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. It follows Scrooge (Ferrell) who is now the Ghost of Christmas Present, haunting a man in modern day, portrayed by Reynolds. West’s A Christmas Carol adaptation is set to begin production at the beginning of 2026.

Touted as a superhero story of imposter syndrome by James Gunn, the secret Max series is taking shape behind the scenes. It’s been previously reported that an actor is already cast to play Booster Gold (first reported by r/DCULEAKS) and that they’re close to getting a showrunner (reported by DanielRPK). In addition, there was a listing on Production List stating the series will begin filming on July 8, 2024, which was quickly debunked by James Gunn commenting on a fan’s question about the rumor. We’ve now heard from our source the following names are attached to write the Booster Gold series. DC Studios is tapping into Danny McBride, John Carcieri and Jeff Fradley the creative team behind the HBO Max Original series The Righteous Gemstones. Danny McBride This will be McBride’s fourth TV series – Eastbound and Down (2009-2013), Vice Principals (2016- 2017) and The Righteous Gemstones (2018 – 2024) and his first foray into superheroes. McBride is no stranger in venturing outside his comedy roots when he revived the much celebrated Halloween (2018) reboot. Jeff Fradley & John Carcieri Fradley, a longtime collaborator of McBride and Carcieri, has worked with them previously on The Righteous Gemstones and Vice Principals. Fradley was also a writer for the 2018 “Halloween” reboot along with McBride. Carcieri is best known as the co-creator of The Last O.G (2018-2021) with Jordan Peele. He has also previously collaborated with McBride on Eastbound and Down, Vice Principals, and The Righteous Gemstones. Much is still under wraps for this DC Studios Max series. The only description we have about Booster Gold is by James Gunn when he announced DC Studios’ Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate: “Next up is a TV series called Booster Gold. Booster Gold is one of comic’s really popular cult heroes. He is a fascinating guy. He’s a loser from the future who uses future technology to come back to present day and become a superhero so that people will love him. It is basically the superhero story of imposter syndrome on an HBO Max series.” This story is still developing…

The Midnight Sons has been one of the most speculated team-up projects for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following several rumors and the debut of multiple supernatural Marvel heroes such as Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and eventually Blade, the project is all but confirmed. Our source has now heard that Michael Green will be penning the script for Marvel Studiosʼ Midnight Sons project. Green is coming off writing the script for Blade which has been in development since 2019. Marvel Studios’ Blade was reported by DanielRPK to set up a Midnight Sons project which would only make Green’s involvement natural. DCULeaks has also reported that Stephen Broussard would be producing the project. The film is expected to be the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's supernatural projects and bring together its respective characters. Green is best known for creating Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai (2023) and writing the scripts for Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot trilogy of mystery films. In addition he has also co-written epic blockbusters such as 2017’s Blade Runner 2049 and Logan. As we await Marvel Studios confirmation of the film its precursor, Blade is expected to begin filming this Fall and is set to release in November 2025 as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Six.

Following James Gunn’s confirmation on the creative team behind Lanterns, new details have emerged on the MAX streaming series that points to it ramping up for production. Gunn confirmed Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King’s involvement in creating the series bible and writing the pilot. In addition, we’ve reported Justin Britt-Gibson, Breannah Gibson and Vanessa Baden Kelly involvement with the series thanks to their WGA profiles.  We can report that the series is currently eyeing to start shooting in Q1 of 2025 in the United Kingdom. If production goes smoothly, this could set it up for a 2026 release! It’s been previously reported this series will feature a veteran Hal Jordan and a younger John Stewart (first reported by r/DCULeaks). We’re hearing new casting details corroborating this report. Casting is about to ramp up with DC Studios looking for White actors between 43-49 years old for Hal Jordan and Black actors between 27-35 years old for John Stewart.  Nathan Fillion’s obnoxious Guy Gardner will be joining the series in a supporting role (also reported by r/DCULeaks). Fillion is expected to make his debut as Guy Gardner in the upcoming Superman , which flies into theaters on July 11, 2025. This story is still developing .

Elle Fanning has been offered the role of a younger Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping . The role was previously portrayed by Elizabeth Banks in the first four films in the series. Fanning would portray Effie before her time as the escort for District 12, twenty four years before the events of the first film. Effie serves as a stylist for the District 12 tributes in order to assist her sister, Proserpina. Although she supports the Hunger Games in principle, Effie shows genuine compassion for the tributes and treats them with kindness and care. The film adaptation is set to start shooting in July of this year in Germany. As announced at CinemaCon by Lionsgate, Francis Lawrence is set to direct the film with Billy Ray writing the script. Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson will be producing the film. Jacobson has served as a producer for all four films in the series and Simpson returns after producing The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Fanning will potentially join Charlie Plummer as Haymitch and Emma Thompson as Drusilla, as reported by Nexus Point News. As reported by DanielRPK, Ralph Fiennes has been offered the role of Snow and Kieran Culkin has been offered the role of Caesar Flickerman. Nexus Point News can corroborate these casting updates.
